Worship on July 27

Al Remaly talked us through the announcement and prayer time. Only Rusty M and Vanessa D shared prayer concerns with the congregation.

The worship service came to order. Barbara Michael was the liturgist of the morning. She opened up by asking the congregation “Who is Jesus to you?” She talked about how Jesus is her rock. She talked about singing praises to God for Jesus. Jacque C talked about Jesus being her friend, no matter what the circumstances. Vicki R said that Jesus makes her right with God. Sharon N said that Jesus is her protector. Linda O said that Jesus is her everything.

Betsy and Alyssa Remaly came forward and talked about their recent mission trip to Alaska. We saw some good pictures of the work they did on their week up north.

Our opening hymn was, “Praise to The Lord, the Almighty.”

The pastor led us in a time of prayer.

Sharon Need taught the children. She said that there was some work that needed to be done on the farm. Her job was to make sure all the tools were ready to go. In doing this she found a nut that wouldn’t come loose from a bolt.
She took a hammer. That didn’t work. She took a screwdriver. That didn’t work. She took a large wrench. That didn’t work. She took a wrench that was the correct size. That got the job done.
She talked about how God gives us all kinds of tools. He will make sure we are using the correct tools to keep our spiritual life in order.

Following the offering we sang “Trusting Jesus.”

The Scripture lesson was from Hebrews 10:19-25.

The pastor taught that God invites us to boldly walk into his presence. God will clean our guilty conscience. God will wash our body with pure water. This is the hope of the Gospel. This is why we believe. We should hold tightly to this hope. No matter what life throws at us. We should hold this hope.
Verse 24 talks about how we should find ways to love one another and do good works for each other. God doesn’t save us to hold our faith. We must find ways to serve others.
This is the center of the Christian faith.

The closing hymn was “The Longer I Serve Him.”

About 132 people were in worship.
